Welcome to SavingCosts.cloud! My name is Levy Vianna, and I am the creator of this site. With over a decade of experience in AWS, and the last three years focused on cost reduction, I bring a simplified perspective to cloud cost optimization.

Our Customer-Centric Approach

At SavingCosts.cloud, we prioritize a customer-centric approach to cloud cost optimization. The provider, AWS, offers several cost reduction initiatives, such as the ‘Cost Optimization Pillar’ from the ‘AWS Well-Architected Framework’, AWS Cost Optimization Immersion Days, ‘Cloud Financial Management’, among others. In this universe, you can find items to reduce your bill. Our approach is more simplified. We provide clear technical knowledge about AWS costs, enabling anyone to reduce their AWS bill.

Many strategies suggest cost reduction without altering your architecture or code, focusing on commitment discounts like Savings Plans and Reserved Instances, or Enterprise Discount Programs (EDP). While these options can lead to cost reductions, believing that they should be the main focus of cost optimization is misleading and will not reduce your costs efficiently. At SavingCosts.cloud, we believe in taking cost optimization to the technical level. Some items allow for reductions with minimal changes, such as deleting idle Application Load Balancers, an item that AWS still unfortunately does not offer visibility for as of 24/07/2024.

Comparison with FinOps Framework

Our approach aligns with some aspects of the FinOps Foundation framework but diverges in key areas. While the FinOps framework is comprehensive, we focus on providing clear, actionable strategies for immediate cost reductions.
